Dear TCVB Families:
Over the past few weeks, we have been doing our best to stay updated and educated on all things COVID-19 in regard to the start of this year’s volleyball season. To be honest, we miss you all and were looking forward to our interactions this summer. This pandemic has altered everything we had planned and now we are looking forward to preparing for the 2020-2021 travel season. In doing so it has come to our attention that some clubs, which operate their own facility, are looking to host tryouts in August. 1- This is against NC government regulations of having more than a limited number of participants in a gym. 2- This is also against documented Carolina Region/USAV policies of when tryout dates can be held and/or commitment letters signed . Those 2020-2021 tryout policies can be found here, please click below to view the policies:

USAV Return To Play Guidelines
This aggression and blatant disregard of rules/regulations and policies put parents and players in tough situations, mentally, emotionally, and financially, where they would potentially have to choose between their health, safety, and volleyball. Not to mention, currently, some could potentially have to choose between travel volleyball and their high school season.
We, at TCVB, are doing what we can to make plans for the upcoming season while remaining safe, and within state and local guidelines. We also do not want to put added pressure on you to make sports decisions when academic decisions are still in the process of being made. We are proud that all of our participants are student-athletes and we want to ensure that they are healthy students first.
With this being said, TCVB will delay posting our tryout dates and program offerings until the first week of September. We believe this will be in the best interest of our players and their families. We want to ensure that our players will have the opportunity to participate in a fair tryout process that will allow them to find the best team for them this season.
We encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about the upcoming season. Please know that all of these decisions are being made with the best interest of our players and parents in mind. We ask that you continue to be patient with us during these unprecedented times. As always, thank you for your continued support of our organization and we hope to communicate more information with you in the near future.
Sincerely,
The TCVB Leadership Team
